VOLUNTEER WITH US
The Norwalk Art Space was a gift from our founder, Alexandra Davern Korry, and relies on the community's support to make its operation sustainable. We have a small staff and are always looking for assistance in a variety of ways.
At the Norwalk Art Space, our volunteers become essential members of our team. We value people's time and energy and welcome those who are passionate about giving back to their community. Whether you become an ambassador, a marketing committee member, or help with our events, you will feel the amazing energy that comes from The Norwalk Art Space and the people in it!
We welcome your help in serving the Norwalk community, so please read more about some of the various teams we're building and join us! There is no minimum commitment, and you can choose your shifts according to your schedule.
ART SPACE AMBASSADOR
This team helps with greeting visitors, tracking attendance, giving tours and information about the program, maintaining the mailing list, answering the phone, assisting in putting out tables/chairs on the weekend and helping to maintain a clean and inviting space.
INSTALLATION
TEAM
This team helps set up and break down art exhibitions, usually every 10-12 weeks (may require basic carpentry skills and heavy lifting).
EVENTS
TEAM
This team helps set up before large events, monitors space and assists visitors during events, and helps break down afterwards (includes checking bathrooms for cleanliness, refilling toilet paper/paper towels, wiping down sink as needed, picking up used plates and glasses, moving chairs, etc.)
AV/TECH
TEAM
This team assists with audio/visual set up, PA/microphone set up and troubleshooting during events
MARKETING/PR
TEAM
This team helps with marketing and public relations efforts, creates promotional images using Canva.
LANDSCAPING
TEAM
This team does light gardening and maintenance of our sculpture garden and grounds
TEEN TEAM
This team helps build and maintain social media presence on Snapchat, TikTok and Youtube (teens can also work front desk shifts and/or join any other team)
CAFE TEAM
This team helps the cafe staff during busy periods by cleaning and bussing tables, sweeping or mopping occasional spills, and restocking the kitchen. If interested, volunteers can also help with food prep
