Thursdays | 4:00-6:00pm| The Norwalk Art Space | Session #1: October 1 - October 22 (4 sessions) Session #2: October 29 - November 19 (registration opens on 10/1) Free and open to students 11-14 yrs old | 12 spots | Registration required through The Art Space website Class Description: Would you like to learn how to make prints of your designs? In this course, students will explore printmaking as a hands-on visual practice, working with gelli plates and drypoint.. Using tools like brushes, Q-tips, stencils, and hand-carved textures, students will build reduction prints in black and then in color, before moving on to drypoint, scratching an image directly into a plate to create a final printed piece. No prior printmaking experience is required. The course culminates in a printing session at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Please note that this is session #1 of two 4-week courses. Students may sign up for both sessions once registration for session #2 opens on 10/1. Your teacher will be Resident Artist Lola Carlander Wade, a conceptual visual artist from Sweden who works in a variety of mediums, mostly fabric, ceramics, and paper, both 2D and 3D.
