Introduction to Drawing with Perspective

Wednesdays | 4:00-6:00pm| The Norwalk Art Space | Session #1: September 30 - October 21 (4 sessions) Session #2: October 28 - December 2 (registration opens on 10/1) Free and open to students 14-18 yrs old | 12 spots | Registration required through The Art Space website Class Description: Do you wonder how artists create the illusion of three-dimensional space? In this introductory drawing course, students will learn the fundamentals of perspective. Through engaging, hands-on projects, students will explore one-point, two-point, and three-point perspectives while learning to draw objects and forms from different viewpoints. The class will also introduce architectural drawing and techniques to create visual depth, scale, and spatial relationships. Students will develop their observation and drawing skills while learning how perspective can make their artwork feel more realistic, dynamic and three-dimensional. Please note that this is session #1 of two 4-week courses. Students may sign up for both sessions once registration for session #2 opens on 10/1. Students will study with Resident Artist Matthew Shelley, who also teaches at Fairfield University.
