Description
Thursdays | 1:30-3pm | The Norwalk Art Space | July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 (5 sessions) Free and open to Carver Foundation 9th grade transition students | 12 spots | Registration is required through the Carver Foundation Summer Enrichment Program at https://the-carver.org/summer-enrichment Get ready to turn the old into something bold! In this creative, hands-on class, you’ll breathe new life into recycled hardcover books by transforming them into your very own handmade sketchbooks. Each week, you’ll fill your pages with art inspired by a fresh and exciting theme — from dreamscapes and secret worlds to bold self-portraits and wild inventions. You'll learn basic bookbinding techniques, creative page design, and how to work with mixed media — paint, collage, ink, and beyond — to build a one-of-a-kind visual diary. By the end of the course, you’ll have a sketchbook packed with your ideas, imagination, and artistic growth. No two sketchbooks will be the same, and that’s the magic! Come ready to experiment, get messy, and make something totally your own.
