Thursdays | 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm | The Norwalk Art Space Beginning Thursday, Sept. 16 (8 weeks) Free and open to high school students (grades 9-12) up to 10 spots; Registration required Translate your favorite songs, poems, movies and pop culture references into inspired pieces of art! In this class, students are asked to take notes on their favorite pop culture references and collect phrases that stand out. The list will define the student’s project and add thought provoking elements to their artwork. Students have the freedom to choose their preferred mediums, from drawing, painting, and/or sculpture. As they work, students are encouraged to speak about their references and explain why they felt drawn to those lyrics and or movie cues. The class will serve as a therapeutic environment for students, where they can express their inner feelings and anxiety through art. Completed artworks will be showcased at the end of the 8 week session in a student led exhibition in the main gallery of The Norwalk Art Space.
