Service Description

Wednesdays | 1:30pm - 3pm | The Norwalk Art Space | Wednesday, July 10 - August 7, 2024 (5 weeks) Free and open to The Carver 9th grade transition students | 12 spots | Registration is required through The Carver Have you ever dreamed of working in animation? Using the inspiration of the filmmaking company that made My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, students in this course will be introduced to animation and landscape painting by recreating scenes from Studio Ghibli animations or creating their own fantasy scapes. Students will work with gouache, a popular material for animation studios. This technical crash course will help students tackle challenges like using perspective, foreground-background relationships, creating a dynamic composition, mixing accurate and pleasing colors, and controlling gouache paint.
