In Living Color: Design and Advertising

Friday | 3:45 - 5:45pm | September 29 - November 17, 2023 (8 sessions) Free and open to students 12 - 18 yrs of age | 12 spots In this course, students explore how color theory relates to design and how the right colors are integral to the ultimate success of an art piece. As students explore the specific applications of color used by professionals in advertising, illustration, and two- and three-dimensional design, they will understand the integration of art and science we call color theory. Every student will create a piece of art using collage, paint, and color sticks using value, hue, and intensity. These works of art can be wonderful portfolio pieces! ****IMPORTANT: Please notify us ahead of time if the student will miss 1 or more classes (or wishes to withdraw completely). We keep our classes small, so there is usually a waiting list. If one student registers but doesn't show up, it means another interested student loses out on the opportunity to participate.****
