Service Description

Mondays | 3:45 - 5:15pm | The Norwalk Art Space | Beginning Monday, Sept. 13 (8 weeks) Free and open to high school students (grades 9-12) for up to 10 spots; Registration required Explore your love of painting with Resident Artist Lorena Sferlazza! Whether it’s your first time picking up a paintbrush, or you want to expand and refine your existing skills, all are welcome here. Together, we will practice a variety of painting techniques—from observational to abstract painting; the basics of color theory; how to build a palette, mix, and apply pigment; underpainting; glazing; understanding value, form, composition, texture, and more—while creating your own works of art, getting inspired by other contemporary artists, and building a unique visual language to express your ideas more fully. Class is open to all skill levels, with time for individual projects and critiques with the instructor and peers to grow your painting at your own pace. Join the journey!
