  • Started Sep 30
  • The Norwalk Art Space

Service Description

Saturdays | 10 - 12pm | September 30 - November 4th (5 sessions) No class on Saturday, October 21st Free and open to students 11-14 yrs of age | 8 spots Registration Required through TNAS Website In this course, students will collaboratively create an immersive installation artwork expressing a cohesive conceptual idea. Over the 5-week course, students will work together to develop an artwork in the TNAS loft installation room. They will begin by looking at inspirational artworks from contemporary artists such as Do Ho Suh, Meredith Connelly, and Angiola Churchill. They will also be encouraged to develop an idea that uses site-specific elements from the Norwalk Art Space, such as working with light in the installation room, incorporating materials from the TNAS staircase wire installation, and gathering natural materials from the sculpture garden. ****IMPORTANT: Please notify us ahead of time if the student will miss 1 or more classes (or wishes to withdraw completely). We keep our classes small, so there is usually a waiting list. If one student registers but doesn't show up, it means another interested student loses out on the opportunity to participate.****
