Using Music as Your Muse Francisco Mandujano (Resident Artist) https://www.youtube.com/c/FrankyDCrafter/about 5 weeks | The Norwalk Art Space Thursdays 1 PM to 3 PM, July 8, 2021 - August 5, 2021 Free and open to Carver Foundation students (grades 9-12); up to 10 spots; registration required In this class, Carver Foundation students will pick favorite songs or poems and transform what they feel or hear into two-dimensional pieces of art. Students will be encouraged to seek out symbols, colors, and details from their own visual languages to inform their compositions. Participants will learn how to develop their own visual language, experiment with different types of material, explore and talk to each other about ongoing exhibitions in the main gallery, and enjoy an art center that will be open and free to art interested students throughout their high school career. Curriculum will be based on a 2 week basis to allow other interested students to attend another two-week session. The 5th week of class can be for those students wanting to come back for an extra lesson. This schedule will also allow Norwalk High to switch with Brien McMahon for a different classroom experience and teacher. Registration is required. All materials and snacks will be provided
