Assemblage:Transforming Everyday Objects

with TNAS staff Darcy Hicks and Emily Teall

  • The Norwalk Art Space

Service Description

Monday - Friday | 12:30pm - 3pm | February 19 - February 23, 2024 (5 sessions) Free and open to students 13 - 18 yrs of age | 12 spots Registration Required through TNAS Website Students will begin with a familiar household object or multiple objects, which we will provide. Using repurposed materials such as fabric, plastic, wire, etc., you will transform the objects into a sculpture that expresses your relationship with that object, referencing sparked memories and narratives. We will consider how everyday objects can be recycled into unusual artworks, either emphasizing the object’s original use or breaking it down. We encourage you to make something unpredictable and attention-getting. You will end up with a wild piece to add to your portfolio! ****IMPORTANT: Please notify us ahead of time if the student will miss 1 or more classes (or wishes to withdraw completely). We keep our classes small, so there is usually a waiting list. If one student registers but doesn't show up, it means another interested student loses out on the opportunity to participate.****
